Work begins this Spring on a new 672 m2 extension at
HETA’s Copenhagen Road site in Hull.
The order for the £630,000 project has gone to Houlton Building
Contractors, who will construct a two-storey extension on adjacent
land, new car parking facilities and upgrading of the existing
parking area and surroundings.
The first floor is made up of a 7 m x 12 m classroom, with the
option of sound-proofed division into two smaller rooms, two more
large classrooms, a boardroom, General Manager’s office, accounts
and business support offices.
168 m2 of workshop space on the ground floor will
house specialist production equipment that will enhance apprentice
training and deliver specialised adult training. In addition,
on this floor, work will create a 25 m2 classroom,
Operation Manager’s office, a fully equipped 42 m2
reception area and administration office.
Outside, parking for an extra 40 vehicles, new CCTV and fire
control systems will be installed.
Once completed, expected to be around September 2007, the large
1st floor classroom will be available for hire, with
full conference facilities.
