STEM In Action 2007

The event, which will be repeated on each of the days, is aimed at Year 5 and 6 pupils and is intended to show young people how Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths is applied in everyday uses, and will be presented in an interactive and exciting way.

Volunteers from major local industries will be providing a carousel of hands-on activities, each demonstrating a different scientific or mathematical principle and all directly linked to national curriculum objectives. Each group of young people will experience 5 different workshops during the course of the day and amongst the many activities arranged, they may have an opportunity to work with Kingston Communications (internet), Corus (making hovercrafts), BAE Systems (making planes), and many others.

SETPoint Humberside has held the event for the last 4 years with great success and demand is always very high.  It is therefore recommended to book places as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

Please note:  We can only accept a maximum of 20 from each school.  This is to ensure as many schools as possible are able to take part.
