OBJECTIVE: To provide the delegate with training to
undertake the assessment for the CITB Refrigerant Handling
(CFC, HCFC & HFC) Certificate. This certificate
meets the statutory requirements for refrigerant handlers to prove
competence before undertaking work on Halocarbon systems.
The course would suit operators and maintenance personnel who
are required to handle Halocarbon as part of their duties. A
working understanding of refrigeration system principles is
required.

- Environmental Issues
- Safe Systems of Work
- Properties of CFC and HCFC Refrigerants
- Refrigeration Theory
- Selection of Refrigerants
- Changing Refrigerant to Systems
- Decanting/Recovery Procedures
- Pressure Testing and Leak Detection
- Practical Considerations
* A certificate of competence for Recovery of Refrigerants
is available to operatives who only reclaim refrigerants from
domestic refrigerators and who work in the waste disposal
industry.
* Please note, each course is modular and can be 'bolted
on' to other units in a flexible manner to meet customer needs.
