Welcome to the SETPoint Humberside website - your one-stop shop
for information and resources relating to Science, Technology,
Engineering and Mathematics, together with a guide to events in and
around the Humber region.
What is SETPoint?
SETPoint Humberside's aim is to bring about a level of
co-operative involvement with teachers, industry,
education/business links, local authorities and science and
engineering organisations so as to revitalise what Science,
Engineering and Technology contribute to the economy as a whole.
This understanding will simultaneously be use to stimulate
old and young people by making them aware of the exciting
possibilities available to them and by encouraging a larger number
to consider engineering-related careers.
How Will We Achieve This?
We will achieve this by:
- Promoting activities in schools that enhance and enrich
curriculum material, working with children from KS1 to KS4+,
teachers and teachers aides.
- Organising projects/competitions that focus on growing
interests.
- Encouraging parents, grandparents and other members of the
community to become involved and provide support to pupils.
- Encouraging better publicity for success stories from pupils
and teachers.
- Organising and delivering CPD courses for teachers at all
levels in STEM-related subject
