CompEx is required for Offshore oil and gas exploration and production, Oil refineries, Chemical plants, Water treatment plants and any COMAH sites.


Content

Objective:

The accredited international scheme that validates underpinning knowledge for those having responsibilities or working in ‘explosive atmospheres’. This course demonstrates competency of working in potentially hazardous, flammable or explosive atmospheres. The course is designed for candidates who have previously undertaken the full 5 day CompEx course units EX 01-04 which hasn't expired.

Course content:
The course is based on DSEAR, European ATEX Directives and international standards, including IEC60079 Parts 14 & 17.
Technicians need proven competence to undertake work in potentially explosive atmospheres. Possession of a CompEx certificate will demonstrate basic core competence in the appropriate units.
EX01 & EX02 Units– Preparation, Installation, Inspection & Maintenance of Exd, Exe, Exn and Exp electrical equipment protection methods.
EX03 & EX04 Units- Preparation, Installation, Inspection & Maintenance of Exi and ‘Intrinsically safe systems’.
