CONTENT - TRAINING COURSES NVQ LEVEL 3

Quite often our clients cross train their Engineers into other trade areas or even promote good people from Operator or other lower level roles to perform basic level maintenance tasks without them ever having served an apprenticeship.

The problem with this over time is that they can end up with a workforce made of a number of unqualified people which leads to dilution in the quality of service from their own maintenance teams. One of the ways to address this situation is to give those good people the chance to formalise the skills and training they have already received ‘in house’ by enrolling them on an NVQ Level 3.

This is the main practical qualification associated with an Advanced Apprenticeship that anyone at any age can undertake as a stand-alone qualification. It can be achieved with minimal loss or disruption to work as it is a work based learning (WBL) qualification. There is no requirement to visit a training centre in order to achieve it.

The people best suited to enrol on an NVQ Level 3 will already be performing a maintenance/or other Engineering role and simply looking to gain certification around the existing skills they have. It is achievable in as little as 6 months but is not restricted by time so can be done at the pace and availability of the candidate. The gain for any company is to prove base line competence of their engineering team and for the candidate to feel better about their own skills and that the company in question has shown faith in them.

NVQ Level 3’s are available in all Engineering roles from Office based CAD/Design/Technical Services to the more traditional Maintenance (Elec/Mech/Instrumentation) and Manufacturing (Fab, Weld, Machining) roles. Costs are £2500 per person which includes all Registration/Certification Fee’s with the awarding body (EAL), all assessment and verification by our team of expert Assessors and all review visits to the candidate during the period of undertaking to ensure progress.
