DATES:  Hull: 24th September 2010, 29th October, 17th December. Grimsby: 18th November 2010

OBJECTIVE: To provide the delegate with knowledge of the Abrasive Wheels Regulations and the associated safe working practices.

COURSE CONTENT:  

•        Introduction

•        Selection of wheels and their application

•        Checking wheels for damage, type and wheel speed

•        Inspection and testing of wheels

•        Methods of starting a new wheel

•        Operational hazards from use of abrasive wheels

•        Correct rest adjustment

•        Storing, handling and transportation of abrasive wheels

•        Duties of employed persons in relation to the 1970 Act.

•        Correct method of dressing wheels

•        Course review

**PLEASE NOTE: It can be arranged for an instructor to visit your site to train up to 12 delegates at a cost of £450 + VAT. Alternatively, if you do not have suitable training facilities an instructor can be booked, again for up to 12 delegates, to run a course exclusively for your company, on-site at HETA for £500 + VAT. Practical sessions can also be arranged at an additional cost.

*DURATION: The duration of the course is dependant on the number of delegates, time taken for any question/answer session etc.
