Applications are open for our HNC and HND intake for September 2020.
HETA offer two-year Higher National Certificate (HNC) and one-year Higher National Diploma (HND) qualifications.
HNCs/HNDs are a great route to moving onto higher-level qualifications; you can do extra studies at a later date to 'top up' a HNC/HND into a full degree.Apply Now
We have been following government guidelines on the closure of the HETA centres. The safety of our learners and staff is paramount to us - hence the decision to close the training centres in March. However, as restrictions will ease in the upcoming weeks, we are now looking at plans to resume some level of practical training for our learners to continue with their training and education.
HETA need to make sure our learners get the practical training they require in order to complete their programme of study and to progress with their qualifications and so in our return to work, we will be following the lead of industry as well as the education sector.
On this basis, we are looking at a return date of 1st June 2020 for learners to resume some level of practical training. Theory lessons will continue to be delivered at home. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and should this date need to be changed based on guidance from the government we will update the website and social media. Click on the coronavirus update page for more info.
From 1st June 2020, training courses will also be able to proceed, however we will have strict safety measures in place to ensure we adhere to social distancing at all times. One of the restrictions will be reduced numbers on each course for the foreseeable future.
Our Higher National programmes will also continue remotely. For more detailed information click here

What our companies say...
HETA provides us with a professional and highly efficient training service at all our plants in the UK, from conducting our Engineering apprentice training to arranging bespoke courses for us at the drop of a hat. All the training they provide is conducted by a helpful and approachable team, where nothing is too much trouble.Karen Tibble, McCain Foods, Technical Training Administrator North
We have had the good fortune of dealing with the HETA for some years, and have found them to be very professional. The Genie apprentices that attend the Humberside College have received outstanding levels of training and have settled in well, which is vital at a young age. We are provided with constant updates on how our apprentices are performing, this is very important as together we can monitor and address any potential issues they may arise. I would highly recommend HETA and its services to all within our industry.Tony Lock, Terex Genie, Training & Compliance Manager
It’s great to have a local training partner that can provide solutions for apprentices through to experienced engineers. Our recent request for you to help us develop an affordable and flexible upskilling programme is testament to the diverse range of training you can offer. The process has been well coordinated and you have a friendly and welcoming approach which I would not hesitate to recommend to othersColin Shaw, Engineering Manager, DS Smith Packaging
