HETA is committed to the well-being and development of all of our learners. We are clear of our duty to safeguard all learners, especially those who are vulnerable.
We follow the statutory guidance in 'Keeping Children Safe in Education'. The term 'children' relates to all learners under the age of 18.
HETA is also committed to the Prevent Duty. The Prevent Duty is intended to safeguard learners from being exposed to exploitation or radicalisation and to support the discussion and understanding of complex and controversial issues.
We also have trained Mental Health First Aiders situated at each HETA Training Centre who are able to listen to concerns and signpost learners to further support if required.
HETA's policy is that safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. This responsibility extends to all our learners as well as staff at HETA. To support this, we promote safe and appropriate behaviour and embed this in all our activities.
