This course is tailored around electrotechnical personnel undertaking the physical installation and assembly of new ‘Ex’ equipment and performing preventative maintenance and inspections on previously installed equipment.

Course Objectives:
Upon successful completion of the 5-day CompEx Ex01-04 Inspection & Installation course, you will be competent in safely working in environments with the potential risk of explosive atmospheres. The course covers working on onshore and offshore oil and gas installations, and petrochemical plants.
Course Outline:
- The course is based on DSEAR, European ATEX Directives and international standards, including IEC60079 Parts 14 & 17.
- EX01 & EX02 Units– Preparation, Installation, Inspection & Maintenance of Exd, Exe, Exn and Exp electrical equipment protection methods.
- EX03 & EX04 Units- Preparation, Installation, Inspection & Maintenance of Exi and ‘Intrinsically safe systems’.
The CompEx EX01-EX04 is an accredited international scheme that involves competence-based training and assessment for electrical and instrumentation technicians who are working in environments with the potential risk of explosive atmospheres.
