Course Objectives:

Upon successful completion of this course, you will understand the basic principles of operating hydraulic fluid power circuits, the different types of Directional Control Valves (DCV’s), principles of operation and construction of Spool-type DCV’s, principles of operation and construction of hydraulic cylinders connected to DCV’s and DCV and cylinder fault finding techniques.

• Directional Valves, their construction and operation
• hydraulic cylinders, their construction and operation
• Basic fault-finding techniques for DCV's on a hydraulic fluid power training rig
