High Voltage - Practical Introduction to the Safe Operations of High & Low Voltage Switchgear

Course overview

Designed specifically for if you have little or no previous experience in high voltage switching, this course focuses on the practical element of switching. This course is perfect to be taken as a precursor to our full authorisation courses.

Course details

Course Objectives:

Upon successful completion of this course, you or your staff will have hands on experience of switching and issuing safety documents on high and low voltage power systems up to and including 15kV. You or your staff will also be familiarised with operational protocols and potential physical constraints with high voltage power systems.

Course Outline:

  • Unit 1 – Initial Assessment Questionnaire 
  • Unit 6 – Operational & safety features of switchgear
  • Unit 7 – High voltage safety rules 
  • Unit 8 – Operational Procedures
  • Unit 10 – test equipment for proving Dead 
  • Unit 11 – Key safes & Multihasps

Our High Voltage – Practical Introduction to the Safe Operations of High & Low Voltage Switchgear course has recently been EAL approved. Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a certificate of verified achievement, recognising the demonstration of competence up to and including 15KV.
