What is Machining?

A machinist’s role is to take a drawing of something that needs to be manufactured, select the tools needed to manufacturer the part and then create the part using machinery like lathes, milling machines and CNC machines.

Perfect if you’re looking for a career that’s ‘hands on’, an apprenticeship in machining will offer you the opportunity to earn a living, gain valuable work experience, and potentially get your foot in the door of one of the fantastic companies we work with right out of the gate.

Upon completion of the programme, you will be fully qualified, highly knowledgeable, and likely in a full-time position earning a good living wage doing something you love. Please note, to apply you must be able to travel to our site in Stallingborough.

Why HETA?

Established in 1967, HETA has a long-term track record of successfully training apprentices in the Humber region, setting the foundations for thousands of prosperous careers in engineering & manufacturing across the globe. The reason we’ve survived and thrived for so long is because we put your education first, utilising only the best instructors, facilities, teaching methods, and equipment to ensure you have the greatest chance of success.

We also have great relationships with many industry leaders across the region, helping you get your foot in the door of companies with admirable progression routes and staff benefits, such as the NHS, Drax, Smith and Nephew, Ideal Boilers, Wren Kitchens and many more.
