HETA (Humberside Engineering Training Association) is once again raising the bar in technical education, building on a legacy of excellence with a record-setting year of learner achievement.
This year, HETA has recorded an overall achievement rate that sits a remarkable 17.6% above the national average, reaffirming its place at the forefront of UK engineering training. This success is not a one-off – it’s the latest in a consistent pattern of high performance, driven by strong employer collaboration, rigorous training standards, and a relentless commitment to learner success.
Among this year’s standout achievements is a 100% success rate among female learners – a powerful demonstration of the organisation’s ongoing commitment to broadening participation and delivering opportunity. With a supportive training environment and inclusive outreach, HETA continues to open doors in a historically male-dominated sector.
Equally impressive are the results in technical specialisms that underpin the UK’s engineering and manufacturing strength. Pipe welding, pipe fitting, and engineering fitter programmes have all achieved 100% completion rates, delivering highly skilled professionals into industries that urgently need them.
“These statistics represent something much bigger than numbers,” said Iain Elliott, Chief Executive of HETA. “They represent real people who have developed real skills and are stepping into real careers. Every success story is someone entering a high-value job, supporting a growing industry, and changing their future – and that’s what HETA is all about.”
These latest results reinforce the value of HETA’s employer-led model, with hands-on, industry-informed training designed to meet both national skills priorities and local employer demand. From traditional engineering trades to advanced technologies, HETA is continuing to deliver what the sector needs most: a work-ready, highly capable workforce prepared for tomorrow’s challenges.
With demand for engineering talent at an all-time high, HETA’s sustained performance is a clear signal that investment in quality training leads to lasting results – for learners, employers, and the wider economy.
