HETA is proud to launch its new suite of Teaching qualifications, designed to help experienced engineers and any other industry professionals take their first step into teaching and training.
As sectors continue to face a growing skills shortage, there has never been a greater need for experienced professionals to pass on their knowledge to the next generation. These new qualifications provide an accessible starting point and progression routes for those looking to become workplace / internal trainers, instructors or further education lecturers.
With no previous teaching experience required, delegates will develop the knowledge and confidence to plan engaging learning / training sessions, support and assess learners, and understand the responsibilities of teaching and training in both education and industry.
The courses are ideal for workplace and subject matter experts who are passionate about developing others in a work scenario or in a teaching capacity looking to make a lasting impact on the future workforce.
As part of HETA's commitment to developing outstanding educators, the Award in Education and Training qualification also forms the first step in a wider teaching pathway. Learners who wish to continue their professional development can progress onto HETA's Learning and Skills Teacher Apprenticeship and or Level 5 Diploma in Teaching qualification providing a recognised route into a rewarding career in technical education.
Iain Elliott, Chief Executive Officer at HETA, said:
"Industries have always been built on experienced people passing on their skills and knowledge. As a training provider, we have a responsibility not only to develop the workforce of tomorrow, but also the people who will teach and inspire them.
This qualification provides an excellent opportunity for experienced professionals to take that first step into teaching and training, whether they want to support others in the workplace or pursue a career in further education. By offering a clear progression pathway through to our Learning and Skills Teacher Apprenticeship and or Level 5 Diploma in Teaching we're helping to strengthen the future of technical education while ensuring the next generation continues to learn from those with real industry experience."
The first cohort begins week commencing 7th September, with places now open for enrolment.
If you've ever thought about sharing your knowledge, inspiring future engineers and giving something back to the industry, there's never been a better time to start.
